14th April 2015
Our first foal by GF Dusautoir hits the ground - a super, super colt out of our St Pr Candidate mare Schneeflocke ( Saffy).  He is very handsome and we are really excited by this boy and will be watching how he develops closely.  As usual Paul has named him after a rugby player like his Dad - so here we have GF Doussain named after the Toulose and French International player Jean-Marc Doussain.

7th April 2015
First foal for 2015 arrives and but Biz kept us waiting nearly 3 weeks!  The wait was well worth it however as she is a stunning filly, a full sister to Bertie, Dusty and Dizzy - and huge!

28th November 2014
Novice regional qualification complete with a 71% for Mark and Buick.  Very well done!

Straight from his qualification Mark then schooled GF Dusautoir for us.  So pleased with how this boy is coming along.  So pleased that we did not push him in the Summer.  He's a big horse and the time off has really helped him.  Hopefully great things to come.
Left Court Farm Stud to then go watch Dan and Bertie's have a super lesson with Carl - a fantastic day, thank to all!

22nd November 2014
Congratulations to MarK Forrest who took GF Buick out at Novice, winning both with 79% and 74%.  A great achievement!

24 October 2014
Well done to Dan with Bertie qualifying for the Winter Regionals PSg to Music with 71.63%.  Given that he had only had the music 3 days before the competition they both did extremely well!

Summer 2014
Bertie. Very pleased with Dan and Bertie, scoring 72.6% in their second PSG in August.

GF Savea (Corky)
At only 5 weeks old foal our colt foal GF Savea ( Supertramp x Duino x Biotop) scored a High First Premium at Solihull and was incredibly well behaved.  Thanks to Laura for her help with the running.

Florentina
We were delighted to see Florrie doing her Mare Performance Test for the BHHS in August - she scored the highest of all the mares but was too old to be considered for Elite status.  A super stunning mare that we fell in love with as a foal and bought from Germany. Congratulations to all of her connections.

Shady Lady
Congratulations to Richard Black and Shady Lady (Sir Oldenburg x Weltruhm x Fidermark) on posting 70%+ scores on their first outings.  Shady was bred here at Glossoms and is  hopefully on her way to an excellent dressage future.

Fleetwood Mac and Chelsea Round
What a few weeks for Chelsea and Mac - bred here jointly with Lynne Crowden, firstly they became Dressage UK Novice Champions 2014 and then went on to be part of the  Central Regional Team that won The National Saddles BE100u18 Championships.  Well done to Mac, Chelsea and all their connections.

15th July 2014
Very pleased with the latest arrival - a bay colt born early morning by Supertramp out of our WBS UK Select, Gold Medal winning mare Dauphina (Duino x Biotop x Cocktail). In keeping with tradition he has been named after a Rugby Union player, in this case a New Zealand All Black - say hello to GF Savea.

May 2014
Congratulations to Chelsea Round who is having great success with Fleetwood Mac in British Eventing. The combination are off to Blenheim in September and have been selected to represent BE central region under 18 at Weston Park International Championships.  Fleetwood Mac was bred here at Glossoms jointly with Lynne Crowden in 2007.  That year he was the Champion Foal for both the WBS UK and the BHHS and was also Supreme Champion of the whole WBS UK show.

15th May 2014
Dusty it to be a Dad for the first time, our St Pr. Schneeflocke (Saffy) by Soliman De Hus  has just been confirmed in foal at the first attempt. Byzantia is expecting another DiMaggio for next year which is also rather exciting.

4 May 2014
Congratulations go to Mark Forrest who took GF Buick to his second affiliated test, winning the first on a fabulous score of 77.24%.  After a two hour wait he and a tired Buick then came second in the next test on a score of 72.74% .  Well done!

25th April 2014
Our first foal this born  - GF D'Arbanville - by GF DeVille out of our Hotline x Weltmeyer mare.

20th April 2014
Congratulations again to Mark Forrest who took GF Buick to his first two affiliated Novice dressage tests and won both!

17th January 2014
Buick had his first proper BD test  and came second in the Novice with 73%.  Well done Mark Forrest!

4th January 2014
For the first time ever both of our stallions were together.  Bertie and Dusty had never met until the Stallion Show at Hartpury where, after Dan and Bertie gave a super demonstration of the level that they are currently working at, the boys came in together, Bertie in front with Dusty ridden by Wayne Garrick in hot pursuit.  Whilst Paul kept a steady hand to film the event, I watched with an immense amount of pride and gratitude to everyone involved in putting this show on.  To Dan, so cool and professional who does such a perfect job of riding and producing Bertie, as well as Jamie and Ash who were there to help him, to Wayne who has been so calm with Dusty and has backed him brilliantly and finally to Darren - who has been there from the start with both boys and who continues to look after Dusty in the best way possible.  You were all amazing!

December 2013
The November edition of The Hanoverian Magazine has just published its review of the BHHS Annual Show and Mare Grading - and has described Dizzy Rascal as exceptional.

"Six mares participated in the mare performance test. Every horse was well prepared and presented. Dizzy Rascal by Dimaggio/Olympic Cocktail (bree-der: Sandy Senior; owner: Victoria Moss) stood out as an exceptional mare with powerful movement and a lot of dressage potential. She received a score of 8,5 for her walk and an 8,25 for her ride-ability. "

The breeding element may not be totally right (DiMaggio x Biotop x Cocktail) but the rest will do.

November 2013
We are very excited by  the arrival of a new potential  broodmare St.Pr Candidate Schneeflocke (Saffy) born 14 February 2010.  She is an extremely pretty mare with fabulous movement by Soliman De Hus out of a Likoto xx Dinar St Pr mare. Our plan is put her in foal to Dusty in 2014.

25th and 26th September
At the WBS (UK) Mare Grading, Annual Show and Stallion Licensing, we were delighted that our homebred Dizzy Rascal, now owned by Vikki Moss won her Performance Test, and was also the Supreme Champion of the show.

On the Thursday, her full brother, GF Dusautoir was graded with the Society to complete a super couple of days.  Our thanks go the Darren Mattia, Wayne Garrick and Mark Forrest for all of their efforts.  Well done guys!

12th and 13th September
At the BHHS annual show and Mare Grading, Dizzy Rascal, full sister to GF Deville and GF Dusautoir became the top scoring mare and Champion of those that were Performance Tested.  On Friday she became overall Mare Champion and then Reserve Supreme Champion of the whole show.  Well done to Darren and Mark who have only had her back for 2 weeks to prepare for this and congratulations to her owner Vikki.  She is a big 4 year old still with a lot of growing to do but with a huge future ahead of her.

27th August 2013
Following the completion of the 2013 Futurity series, we are delighted by the fact that GF Dusautoir is officially the highest scoring 3 year old of all disciplines.  Thanks go to Darren and Wayne. Photos courtesy of Kevin Sparrow

26th August 2013
Our Uthopia colt GF Uphoria received a High First Premium at the Futurity with a score of 8.82. Very pleased with this - a boy for the future. Thanks to Laura Watson for her help.

22nd July 2013
GF Dusautoir - 3 year old full brother to GF Deville was taken to the Futurity where he scored an impressive 9.23 to equal the highest score on the day and in so doing received a 10 for his canter.  This is his second Elite Premium, the first he received as a foal in 2010.
Grateful thanks go to Darren Mattia who produced him and Wayne Garrick who helped present him.

7th July 2013
Dan and Bertie strut their stuff at Hartpury Gala Evening!

Really enjoyed seeing Dan have fun with Bertie at the Gala evening, many thanks Dan for doing such a good job and thanks to Lynne from Woodlander for organising this.

Florentina
Florrie is now with Wayne Garrick and Darren Mattia where she is being re-backed and to be produced for sale. Thanks to both.

11th May 2013
Absolutely thrilled with our latest arrival - a black colt by Uthopia out of our star mare Byzantia.
http://youtu.be/VY0-ozGaSx8 - Ollie's first day in the field aged 3 days

8th May 2013
Well done to Dan and Bertie who were at Wellington Premier League and scored 72.63% in the Advanced Medium.  Couldn't make it ourselves as we were on foal watch.

6th May 2013
Happy birthday GF Dusautoir - 3 today.  Thanks to Darren for looking after him

30th April 2013
Well done to Dan and Bertie who won both the Advanced Mediums at Abbey Dressage today with scores over 70%.

10th April 2013
Really sad that Bertie cannot go to the Winter Nationals with Dan.  It's hard enough to reach the finals and Dan has done so well.  We are very grateful that the EHV outbreak at his yard has been contained so quickly and that Bertie and the majority of Dan's other horses have come through so far without contracting the illness.  This is entirely due to the hard work and care by Dan, Jamie and all the staff and we are so sorry that he has been unable to take any of the horses that he qualified for the Nationals because of EHV.

6th April 2013
After several sleepless nights our first baby of the year finally arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning - a chestnut colt by Bertie out of our De Niro x Florestan mare.  A really handsome chap who clearly takes after his Dad.

16th February 2013
Whilst we were away on holiday Dan took Bertie to Addington for the Regional Final and we are delighted that he qualified in a very tight, tough class with only 1% difference in the top 5. Well done Dan, sorry we missed it.

10th January 2013
Having qualified Bertie for the Winter Regionals at Medium, Dan took Bertie to Solihull to do his first Advanced Mediums since he was withdrawn from the Summer Regionals in July.  He won both with marks of 71%+ and 72%+.  Well done Dan and thanks.

WBS UK Mare Grading 29th September 2012
At this years annual mare grading held at Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire Darren Mattia presented Dizzy Rascal on behalf of her owner Vikki Moss.  We were delighted that the 2 Germany judges, Dr Eberhard Senckenberg and Dr Rainer Heuschmann awarded her a string of 9's and two 10's for her trot and her swing and elasticity naming her Mare Champion and awarding her a Gold medal.  Dizzy is the full sister of GF Deville and GF Dusautoir and has been with Vikki since she was 6 months old.  She has a foal by Hotline due by embryo transfer in 2013.
Congratulations to all concerned.

Summer Regionals
Having qualified early for both the Medium and the Advanced Medium Regionals, Bertie has had time out because of a bacterial hoof infection.  This has meant that he has had competitions cancelled and an easy time until the hooves have settled down.  He now has very flashy plastic shoes and has just started to feel good again - unfortunately too late to be right for the Regionals and so after much discussion with Dan we decided to withdraw him.  Disappointing but necessary.  Good luck to Dan with all the other horses that he has qualified at various levels for the Nationals.

26th July 2012
We took Byzantia and her Rhondeo filly to Arena UK Futurity and were delighted with her Elite Premium, but even more delighted with Roxy's behaviour and attitude on the day.  The best part about the Futurity is the opportunity to get the babies out as it teaches them so much.

25th July 2012
Deville's dam Byzantia has now had her second scan and we are delighted to say that she is in foal to Uthopia, due June 2013.

17th May 2012
Dan and Bertie have a go at their first Advanced Mediums at Solihull - winning both with scores of 68% and 66% - well done to both.

15th May 2012
Byzantia safely delivered her Rhondeo foal, a superb bay filly called GF Roxanne.

28th March 2012
Congratulations go to Dan and Bertie who have completed their regional qualification at Medium level in only two outings.  At Addington on 15th March they completed their first medium tests having not competed since the Nationals in September coming 2nd in both with 66% and 70%. At Hunters on 28th March, a more confident and relaxed Bertie  won both with 72% and 74%.  Dan hopes to have him out very shortly to contest Advanced Medium.

22nd March 2012
Our first foal born this year (Deville x De Niro x Florestan) and we have a stunning black colt. Once again Bertie has stamped his stock not only with his movement but also with his temperament.  We couldn't have wished for a better foal and are very, very pleased.   SOLD

24th September 2011
At this years Annual Mare Performance Test for the British Hanoverian Horse Society Dauphina (Duino x Biotop x Cocktail) was presented along with 3 other 3 year olds plus several 4 and 5 year olds.  We are very pleased that she was made Reserve Champion Mare. Congratulations and thanks go to Laura Watson who has prepared and presented our mare superbly.

18th September 2011 BD National Championships
Congratualtions must go to Dan Greenwood and his team for all the work that they have done with Bertie which has culminated this year in Dan and Bertie being crowned National Open Elementary Champions 2011.  We are hugely grateful to them and to Dan in particular and are very very pleased that they have done so well.  They have not lost an Elementary competition since the first couple that they  did in April / May so soon after Bertie was  brought back into work so this is very much the icing on the cake!

Bertie will be visiting Twemlows in early October and he and Dan will then be concentrating on Medium and Advanced Medium.

WBS Mare Grading Hartpury 27th August 2011
Dauphina was performance tested at this years WBS UK Mare Grading. She was awarded a First Star and received a Gold Medal before becoming the Reserve Mare Grading Champion.  Many thanks go to Laura Watson who has done an excellent job of backing and producing Dauphina over the past 3 months.

Bertie and Dan become Central Summer Regional Elementary Champions.

We are delighted that at Addington on Saturday 13th August Dan and Bertie topped a class of 43 to win the Elementary Regional Championship and thus qualify for the National Finals. Well done!

2011 Futurity
Both DeVannah and DuPlessey (Joey) have now been evaluated in the 2011 Futurity and we are pleased that both were awarded High First Premiums.

Bertie qualifies for Elementary Regionals
Following Bertie's lay off over the winter we moved him at the beginning of March to be with Dan Greenwood to start work at Elementary level.  He did his first tests after being with Dan for just 5 weeks and having not seen the inside of a school since the previous September.  After only 3 outings he has qualified for the Regionals. Congratulations to Dan who is doing a great job getting Bertie stronger after his long lay off.

8th May 2011
Byzantia safely delivers another Dimaggio - just like Dusty last year he is a big boy and already shows the movement that has been stamped on all of the Dimaggio / Byzantia babies - very, very pleasing. Say hello to G F DuPlessey!  SOLD

23 March 2011
Bertie is a Dad again - a super chestnut filly, full sister to GF Damoiselle out of our De Niro x Florestan mare.

4th December 2010
We were delighted with the progress of Hot Gossip who is being backed by Will Turnbull.  Today we saw her 'go large' for only the second time - footage on the Youngstock For Sale page.

Shearwater International 11th and 12th September 2010
We were looking forward to the Nationals, Bertie's last 5 year old outing, but sometimes things don't turn out as you hope.  Bertie was first to go in the qualifier but he wasn't quite right, not his normal self so although he was one of the 8 horses that qualified for the final on the Sunday, after much discussion we decided to withdraw him. This proved to be a wise decision as subsequent scans have revealed very minor damage to his superficial digital flexor tendon caused by a knock or overreach.

Bertie has not been ridden since the Saturday of the finals and is now being walked in hand twice a day and will soon be back under saddle with the vet confirming that the long term prognosis is excellent.

Bertie has had a great year in Young Horse Classes and we are all really looking forward to 2011.

WBS Annual Show At Hartpury 30th August 2010

We were delighted that at the WBS show, the Dutch judge Frenk Jespers placed GF Damoiselle (Bella) second in her class but also decided that she was a premium foal. This filly was the lowest scoring of the foals at the Futurity because she had not fully recovered from a bruised hoof. Four weeks have made a difference and she is now back to her normal self.

Hickstead FEI National and International 5 Year Old Championships 28th and 31st July 2010

Congratulations to Charlotte who rode Bertie superbly to finish both competitions as Reserve Champion, the first with a score in excess of 90% and the second with a score of 82%.

29th July 2010

A busy day at Arena UK Futurity saw all four of our foals go forward for evaluation. We were delighted that 2 of Bertie's fillies were awarded High First Premiums and the 3rd a First Premium. The average score for the 3 was 8.60 meaning that Bertie is currently riding high in the Dressage Sire rankings to date.
Bertie's full brother, GF Dusautoir, scored 9.11 to become an Elite Premium foal, just like his full sister last year. This has put their Mum, Byzantia, number 2 in the dam rankings (all years) with an average score of 9.23. Bertie was never taken to the Futurity so it is really good to see that his siblings are recognised as foals which will hopefully lead to very succesful dressage careers.

17th July 2010

The first of this years National Finals, the Shearwater, was held at Hartpury and we are delighted to announce that Charlotte and Bertie finished as Reserve Champions.

World Breeding Championships
Bertie was selected by British Dressage to represent Great Britain at the 5 year old World Breeding Championships in Germany. A huge honour but for a variety of reasons we were unable to attend. We are however very proud that he has been recognised in this way.

25th and 26th May 2010

We are delighted by the arrival of our last two foals this year, both fillies, both by Bertie, the black filly out of our Weltruhm x Fidermark mare and the chestnut out of our Davignon x Duft 11 mare, born 24 hours apart.

16th May 2010

Congratulations to Charlotte who made it five out of five wins with another fantastic performance at the Addington Premier League Shearwater 5 Year Old International.
Bertie has now qualified for all of the 5 year old classes this year. What a result!

8th May 2010

Bertie's next outing was to Crofton Manor for the 5 year old Shearwater Class which he and Charlotte won with 8.9. Congratulations to Charlotte, Darren and Bertie!

6th May 2010

Bertie has a brother! Born at 1.45am Bertie's full brother is a huge, handsome chestnut with 4 white socks and a star on his face. Very exciting.

2nd May 2010
Two days after attending Badminton Charlotte and Darren took Bertie to Hartpury for the FEI 5 Year Old National and International Qualifiers. We are delighted that they came first in both competitions and are now qualified for the finals at Hickstead in July.

 Well done!!

30th April 2010 - Bertie Does Badminton!

On the first day of Badminton Horse Trials, Carl Hester asked Charlotte and Bertie to take part in his dressage lecture /demo. Quite daunting for a nearly 5 year old stallion but Bertie had a great time, behaved really well and both he and Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

25th April 2010

Congratulations to Julie Peters whose mare, Lucky Lady (Londonderry x World Cup 1) gave birth to a lovely chestnut colt by GF DeVille.

18th April 2010

Bertie went to his first competition this year and his first with Charlotte who has only been riding him for just over 3 weeks. We were delighted with their performance at the Badminton Young Horse Qualifier at Bromyard which they won with a score of 49.8 out of 60 (over 83%). Well done to both and to Darren as always for his daily hard work and care.

5th April 2010 - Click HERE to see video taken 11 April 2010

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our first foal this year, a black filly born 29th March by our own GF Deville out of our De Niro x Florestan mare.
We are very pleased with this little girl and intend to put Rosie back in foal to Bertie for this year.
4 Year Old Shearwater Potential International Dressage - Sunday 20th September 2009
In his final competition of the year GF Deville went to the Nationals for the 4 year old International class and, in the pre assessment first thing in the morning, although he was the first to go, he completed his test with a score of 42.6 - the equivalent of 85.2% to finish in first place.

In the final phase later that morning he was placed second overall with the German Judge Dr Dieter Schule commenting on the quality of his walk and his very balanced canter.

An amazing end to the Young Horse Classes which have seen Bertie grow from strength to strength over the last few months. Our grateful thanks go to Tim Sillevis and Darren Mattia of Court Farm Stud - and to Bertie!

Futurity - Final Results

With over 850 evaluations now carried out in this years BEF Futurity, Dizzy Rascal, this years full sister to GF Deville, has finished in 5th place overall and is the highest placed dressage filly born this year! Making her appearance at Solihull on 20th August, she walked away with the highest score for a dressage foal and an Elite Premium, scoring 9.35 overall. She scored 9.5 from the vet for confirmation and 9.5 for trot, canter and overall type from the evaluators.

This excellent achievment from Dizzy has placed her Mum Byzantia in second place at the top of the dressage Dam rankings which also takes into account Dauphina from 2008. Truly a mare of distinction and back in foal to Dimaggio for 2010.

(Grateful thanks to Jayne Camp for her help)
